FILM: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

I didn’t really notice how much the kids had grown up until I saw the first Harry Potter movie on HBO the other night. Fans of the book know what to expect – a slavish recreation of the beloved J.K. Rowling novel. Of course, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Kenneth Branagh is the newest, biggest addition to the cast, and his is a suitably foppish and foolish Gilderoy Lockhart. Dobby, the house elf, grates, but the rest of the film is pleasant enough. Nothing super special, but certainly good entertainment. Link |
