Sense of Humour
For the nation that gave the world Monty Python, turns out Britain doesn't have much of a sense of "humour."
According to this story, the woman who has been doing the public address annoucements for the London Underground ("Mind the gap," etc.) has been sacked. Her crime? Posting samples of her work - including some very funny parody subway announcements- on her website.
The announcements, located for now here, are actually quite funny, and are found on the same page as her master demo "showreel," spotlighting the variety of her work. I wish I had a voice over job to give her. Emma Clarke - stay strong! The world needs to get a sense of humour.
It's called, "The Heartbreaking Voices of Uncertainty," and after you watch it, you'll wonder if these major media moguls have any shame, or perhaps are suffering from the most ill-timed case of collective amnesia yet on record.
Stay strong, WGA. This DGA and NABET member is with you all the way.
