Many People Ask...
Sure, many people ask me, "Colin, where on the Internet can I find a website devoted to pictures of cats in sinks?" And I tell them, "Many People, you ought to pay a visit to catsinsinks.com. Now, leave me alone."
(Thanks to Mark Evanier for the kitty tip.)

I Don't Remember Voting On This...
... but apparently, we, as a nation, have made a decision on a crucial question facing the republic. And that question is, "What is America's favorite pizza weblog?" The people at Slice seem to think they are the answer. You be the judge.

Looks Like Somebody's Broken Leg Is Feeling Better...
And that somebody would be... Mikko!
Yes, Finnish hockey legend Mikko Eloranta is apparently all better (you remember me writing about his broken leg, don't you?), and playing in an elite Swiss hockey league.
Check out his info here, if you feel the need, as I sometimes do, to get your fix of Swiss hockey action.

Nice goatee, Mikko!

Today's Letter to the L.A. Times
If a newsmaker releases a statement which contains a lie, aren't you obliged to correct it? I'm refering to Tom Hamburger and Richard Schmitt's article "Woodward Disclosure Causes a Stir" -- wherein we find this paragraph, attributed to Ted Wells, a Libby attorney:
"First, the disclosure shows that Mr. Fitzgerald's statement at his press conference of Oct. 28, 2005, that Mr. Libby was the first government official to tell a reporter about Mr. Wilson's wife was totally inaccurate," said a statement released by Wells.
Well, sure... except THAT'S NOT WHAT FITZGERALD SAID.
Read the transcript of Fitzgerald's press conference: In fact, Mr. Libby was the first official known to have told a reporter when he talked to Judith Miller in June of 2003 about Valerie Wilson.
"First official KNOWN" and "first official" are two different things... something that Libby's lawyer knows, and which the Times SHOULD have known! Instead, you blindly reprinted this "fact" without subjecting it to even the most basic reporting and verification.
C'mon, guys -- you've got to do better! Just repeating and attributing statements by lawyers isn't reporting!

The Tail Wagging the Pirate
So the movie Pirates of the Carribean was based on the ride at Disneyland called, appropriately enough, Pirates of the Carribean. But now, Pirates of the Carribean is getting a make-over, to make it more like Pirates of the Carribean. Got it? Here's the full story, at MiceAge.com.
Sudden, scary thought: Does this mean they're going to put Eddie Murphy in the Haunted Mansion and make it really crappy, like The Haunted Mansion?

Slowly Stirring Back to Life...
Thanks for your messages of support!
I've been fighting a losing battle, trying to install new software to run this crazy website... I'm thinking that after about two more hours of work, I'm going to give up and enroll in a graduate-level computer science class, just so I can learn how to set up and manage a MySQL database. (Side note: Should setting up and managing a MySQL database be part of running this rudimentary weblog? I think not...)
In the meantime, as my sister brought to my attention late last night, it's November. Rabbit, rabbit!
What's "rabbit, rabbit?"
It's the end of the month and you know what that means... It's time to prepare for the first of the month and all that can be yours with the simple utterance of "rabbit, rabbit!"
Here's the poop. The first words out of your mouth on the first day of the month must be "rabbit, rabbit". This is doubly important if your birthday occurs that month. "Rabbit, rabbit" will ensure good luck. And who couldn't use a little good luck these days?
If you forget, don't fret. Just make sure that "tibbar, tibbar" are the last words out of your mouth as you fall asleep and you're covered.
Rabbit rabbit!
Now we know! Good luck to all this month!
