I love my Dad ... and that'll never change. Here's a photo of happier times -- Alanna's graduation from Indiana University. Dad wore his "nice" Hawaiian shirt. It's mine now -- after hanging in a prominent place during his memorial services. Dad would have approved.

There's more to come on this, obviously, but the short version is: I've lost my father. I'm in Indiana dealing with horrible parental burial things, but I thought I'd at least post the obit. So here it is:
Funeral services for Howard P. Campbell, 57, formerly of Clarksville, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 14, at St. Augustine Church in Jeffersonville. He died Sunday, May 9, in Oxford, Ohio.
Mr. Campbell was born Aug. 8, 1946, in West Palm Beach, Fla. He graduated from Clarksville High School in 1964 and attended Indiana University for a year before moving to Los Angeles where he launched a career in film and television, beginning at KCBS-TV in 1966. He wrote and produced Emmy Award-winning television news as well as produced documentary films for more than two decades before returning to Clarksville to complete his bachelor’s degree at Indiana University Southeast – New Albany in 2000. He earned a master’s of science degree in new media in 2002 from Indiana University. For the last two years, he taught as a visiting instructor in communication at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
In 1966, Mr. Campbell married Kathryn Carriker Campbell of Greencastle, Indiana; they later divorced and he married Claudia Anderson of Los Angeles in 1978.
He is survived by three children: Colin Howard Campbell of Studio City, Calif.; Morgan Alexander Campbell and his wife, Lydia, of Redwood City, Calif.; and Alanna Grace Anderson Campbell of New York City. Survivors also include his mother, Patricia Devine Hommel of Clarksville; two sisters, Julie Campbell of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Margie Hommel of Clarksville; one brother, Fred Hommel of Clarksville; his former wife, Kathryn of Eugene, Ore.; and his companion, Sara Christman of Oxford, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard E. Campbell, in 1977; and by his former wife, Claudia Anderson, in 1997.
Coots Funeral Home of Jeffersonville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday, May 13, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Hazelden Foundation, PO Box 11, Center City, MN 55012-0011.
